“The Latte Factor”

April 11th, 2009

“Every year, Americans drink more than 100 billion cups of coffee. Of these, 14.4 billion are served in disposable cups, enough to wrap the Earth 55 times if placed end to end!”

In Go Green, Live Rich, David Bach shares tips (like this) and supporting facts on simple things each of us can do to make a positive impact on the environment and our pocket books.  “The Latte Factor” is a phrase created by Bach to metaphorically represent the little things we thoughtlessly spend money on throughout the day — all those items of convenience from buying coffee in disposable cups to individual servings of water in plastic bottles. Sound examples of “how wasting money and hurting the planet go hand in hand” abound in this book.

What is your “latte factor” that you are willing to change?
